If your mother is anything like mine, she is absolutely impossible to shop for. Personally, mine is bougie and lacks hobbies so finding a gift that works is exhausting. Whether you’re in the same boat you’ve just procrastinated and need a quick fix, here’s my 2018 Mother’s Day gift guide.
GO PERSONAL
Frame her a picture of the both of you. Whether it’s a throwback or something obnoxious and representative of a happy time, she’ll love looking at it every day. My favourite frame lets her know how you feel and for under $20 bucks.

GLOWING SKIN IS ALWAYS IN
What better gift than the gift of self-care? Remind your mom to take a break and give her skin a little TLC. Try finding hydrating face masks to keep her skin glowing and fresh. Regardless of your price point, Sephora has a mask kit to save you. My recommendation is the Picture Perfect Mask Set ($61.00) from Fresh because the masks hydrate, purify and perfect the skin to fight dullness and uneven texture/skin tone, dryness and dark spots. If you need a cheaper option, the Peter Thomas Roth Meet Your Mask sampler kit ($31.00) helps fix fine lines and wrinkles, dryness and dullness.

GET CREATIVE
Low on money? I get it, taxes suck but that doesn’t mean your mom’s gift has to suck. Making her a gift is still totally acceptable if it looks cute and she can use it. Pinterest is your best friend in this situation, but my DIY of choice is this blooming letter. You can either do her initial or write out “mom” and if she adds it to her office or bedroom it’ll surely brighten up the space. Plus, it won’t die because the flowers are fake so you really can’t go wrong here.
MAKE HER LIFE EASIER
Is your mother forgetful? Because wow, relatable! Try helping her keep a tab on the things she tends to lose with a Tile. Keys, purse, wallet, even her luggage. There are four styles to choose from so regardless of what she loses you’re both covered. All she needs is a smartphone to get the app and if the lost item is in Bluetooth range it’ll play a tune loud enough for her to hear. If not, they map it out for her to find and suddenly life seems easier for you both. A bonus is that you can get them on Amazon Prime for your last-minute gift purchases
DONATE TO HER WARDROBE
If your mother is bougie and not easily impressed, go designer, just do it wisely. With the right amount of research, you can get a vintage YSL bag for under $80. My favourite website to shop for these purchases is Vestiaire Collective. Everything is inspected by a quality control team and stamped with an approval of authenticity before you receive the items so you know you’re not being deceived. It’s hard to go wrong when you’re getting such a deal on some of these items.

PROMOTE HER WELLNESS
Let’s face it, their lives are busy and sometimes they need a little support. My suggestion is to get them into natural remedies for things like headaches, digestion, and stress. The Pocket Farmacy from Saje is a convenience kit of five essential oils that promote overall wellness while remaining 100% natural. Including Peppermint Halo, Immune, Eater’s Digest, Stress Release and Pain Release remedies, they’re vegan, Canadian and don’t test on animals.
ADD A PERSONAL TOUCH
This day wouldn’t mean anything to her without you, might as well remind her of that. Jewelry is always a safe bet so personalize it! By engraving your initial on a simple necklace that she can keep forever, she’ll always have a way of keeping you close. This particular necklace looks great alone or stacked, so if you want to spruce it up add a sibling’s initial as well or even your birthstone.

BRUNCH IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA
If all else fails, head to the kitchen and make a brunch spread so impressive she won’t care that you’re too broke to get her a gift. Even if you’re not a good cook, a simple quiche and solid mimosa are sure to impress. These are my go-to’s for a spring brunch so I hope they help! Just add some bacon to the table and you’ve got a proper spread going.

Hopefully, you found this useful! Also, like…don’t forget to tell your mom you love her (duh.) But get her a card, some flowers, spruce that shit up, it’ll be worth it.
